WA Reunion Handbook
Ok, I'll do it. Where do I start?
Where and when do you want to hold it?
Most classes prefer to host their reunion in conjunction with the annual Founder's Day event at Wasatch in April (typically the 3rd weekend). There are a couple of ways to make this work. Some classes are able to secure hotel space in the Mt. Pleasant area and hold a BBQ or dinner the Friday night before. Typically the class gathers and talks well into the evening (and even early morning hours) catching up and remembering fond incidents. Many tour the campus or participate in some of the planned activities throughout Saturday and then attend the banquet dinner at the school that night.
Others gather in the Salt Lake City area for activities on Friday night including the long discussions. Then they bus or drive to Mt. Pleasant for the activities on Saturday, including the banquet.
Another option that some classes have tried is to host an event in Mt. Pleasant, but during another time of year. For example, early summer after the spring school session is out. Depending on other activities happening at the time, the dormitories may be available for use if this option is chosen.
Some classes opt to host their reunion in another city. That's ok if that's what works best for your class. The important thing is to reconnect the people. If you'd like to have a WA representative attend to give updates on the state of the school today or someone from the Alumni Association to participate, please contact the WA Alumni Office. |
