Bill Bedford
In his second year as Academic Dean, Bill Bedford has been a Wasatch
faculty member since 1990. He has taught Chemistry, Honors Chemistry,
Biology, AP Biology, Integrated Science and Conceptual Physics prior to
his appointment as a member of the Wasatch administrative team. He
continues as head coach of both boys’ and girls’ cross country and track
and field.
Bill’s academic background includes education at Phillips Exeter Academy, Amherst College (B.A.-
Biology), the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he earned his M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology. Prior to arrival in Mt. Pleasant, he taught math and science at The American School in Switzerland (TASIS) and Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI.
Bill lives eight miles northeast of Mt. Pleasant in Fairview, UT, with his wife Cindy, a public school educator, as well as daughters Sylvia (15) and Hannah (17), a Wasatch
senior. The household also includes two cats and a dog, a frequent companion on journeys into the local mountains. In addition to coaching, Bill devotes extra time to running, cycling (road and mountain), kayaking the mountain reservoirs, and cross country skiing local trails.
