Course Objectives

The Algebra I course presents the fundamentals of Algebra. Students study the properties of real numbers, equations and inequalities, the factoring of polynomials, graphs of equations, and more. An emphasis is on developing current technological skills including the use of calculators and spreadsheets for problem solving.
Course Description

Algebra 1 topics to be covered may include any the following:

• Language of Algebra
• Real Numbers
• Solving Linear Equations
• Graphing Relations and functions
• Analyzing Linear Equations
• Solving Linear Inequalities
• Solving Systems of Equations and Inequalities
• Polynomials

Required Materials

• Algebra 1 textbook (Glencoe)
• Pencils
• Loose leaf paper
• Graph paper
• Scientific calculator (i.e. TI-30X IIS)
• Laptop computer
