Steve grew up
on a farm in Idaho raising sugar beets. He loves hard work
and the thrill of seeing a project finished well. At Declo
High School, he was very active in sports (football, basketball,
wrestling, track), Jazz band, and the FFA.
After high school, Steve attended Utah State University
where he pursued a BS in Computational Math with minors
in Computer Science and Portuguese. He also met his lovely
wife, Jennifer, while at USU.
Following a semester and a half of teaching religion classes
to high school students, Steve realized that he rather enjoyed
teaching. So he went back to school to earn a BS in Math
Education. He taught for three years at Logan River Academy
in Logan, Utah. While there he earned his MA in Math Education.
Even with all of his broad interests and hobbies, Steve’s
family is without a doubt his inspiration and his greatest
love. He looks forward to spending lots of quality time
with his wife and two sons (Connor – 4, Quinlan –
1).
Steve is very excited to teach at Wasatch Academy and looks
forward to sharing his enthusiasm for mathematics and computers
with his students.
