Fall SPorts WRAP-UP

BASEBALL- The Tigers breezed through
another undefeated Region Championship, again asserting their
dominance in Region 18 baseball. They also made a valiant run
to the semi-finals of the state tournament before losing a close
semi final game. The Tigers also boasted a Prep-Athlete of the
week in one of the major state newspapers, and also had a boy
make the Academic All-State Team, which honors great student
athletes with great grades and academic performance.

CROSS COUNTRY- The boys
Cross-Country Team won the second Cross-Country Region Title in
school history this year. The team had both the male and female
individual region champion medalists. The team continued a
great run at the state meet with the boys finishing 4th
in state. In addition, the Tigers had a boy take 2nd
overall and a girl take 5th overall in fields that
had 40-50 runners.

GIRLS SOCCER- The Lady Tigers
competed for the first time in a state sanctioned soccer
division and represented Wasatch Academy with class and heart.
We were one of only two 1A schools competing in the new 1A-2A
state soccer division. It was a learning and building year, but
the Lady Tigers picked up confidence and momentum, and played
very competitively the second half of the season.

GIRLS TENNIS- The Lady Tigers again
had fun and competed with heart all year. They were able to
learn a lot about their sport and they represented Wasatch
Academy well. The Lady Tigers finished the season strong by
qualifying and sending a player to the state competition.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL- The Lady Tigers
improved immensely from last year and played every match
competitively and with heart. Everywhere they went coaches and
principals commented on the team leadership and team spirit of
our girls. They definitely accomplished their team goal of
playing their best volleyball at the end of the season and of
continuing to get better and learn more about their sport.
