Student Qualifies For National Rodeo

Wasatch Academy’s Equine Science Program is proud to announce our first national qualifier. Tegan ’09, daughter of Danna and Scott Shaw, Salina, Utah, joined Wasatch Academy’s Equine Science program with a need to excel and a fierce competitive edge. After months of training and hard work, Tegan was ready for her first Little Britches Rodeo Competition held April 27th and 28th in Panguitch, Utah.

Tegan dominated the field in Barrel Racing winning her class in both days of competition. In addition to Barrels, her talent and abilities continued to shine, placing in the top six in Pole Bending, Goat Tying and the Timed Trail Event. The reward for her efforts are realized in the fact that she is now qualified for 2007 National Little Britches Finals Rodeo held July 16th - 21st at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo, Colorado. Little Britches is one of the oldest, continuing junior rodeo associations in the nation. The National Little Britches Rodeo Association’s membership ranges from Canada to Texas from the west coast to the eastern states.
