February Students of the Month

Mt. Pleasant - The following students were named Students of the Month at Wasatch Academy for the month of February. They are Brysen Hansen, Ho Jun ‘Johnny’ Choi, Kenneth Haight and Kyulee Park. Kyulee, a freshman, is the daughter of Sung Yoon Park and Kyung Won Kang. Kyulee joined us at semester from Seoul, Korea. In her first quarter at Wasatch Academy Kyulee has a GPA of (4.28). Her favorite subject is Music and her hobbies include playing the violin and the piano. She likes to play volleyball, soccer and she has been in both the fencing and equestrian classes this past quarter. She is in her third year of Japanese and loves learning foreign languages. She would like to master at least four languages while attending Wasatch Academy, including English and Japanese. Her goals include becoming a linguist or a psycholinguist. She would love to know about languages all over the world.

Kenneth, a sophomore, also joined us at semester. He is the son of Jeffrey Haight and Jeanne Favreau. Kenneth lives in Sunnyvale, CA and has one older sister. In his first quarter at Wasatch Academy he is involved in snowboarding and has a GPA of (4.0). His favorite subjects are Music & History and he is currently enrolled in honors history. He enjoys many sports including snowboarding, soccer, wrestling, basketball and track. His hobbies include music, poetry, independent films and taking long walks on the beach. One of his goals in life is to become involved in Humane Law Enforcement to help protect and enforce the rights of animals.

Johnny, a junior, is the son of Myung suk Choi and Huja Kim. He is from Pohangsi, Korea and has attended Wasatch Academy for two years. Johnny is enrolled this year in AP History, AP Calculus, English Honors, Latin Honors and has a GPA of (4.33). He has been student of the quarter, student of the semester and is on the Headmaster’s Honor Roll. Last year he was student of the year for English Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors, History Honors and Spanish II. His favorite subjects include Math, English, History, Political Science and Languages. He is also the International Rep for Student Council, a dorm prefect and a language prefect. He enjoys soccer, frisbee and tennis. Some of his hobbies include reading, writing, watching movies, music, debate and traveling. His goal is to attend a University and major in Industrial Engineering & Business Administration/Management. He would also like to attend Law School. Johnny has another goal…to travel all around the world before he is forty.

Brysen, a senior, is the son of Bruce and Rhonda Hansen of Spring City, UT. He is a four year student and his brother Logan also attends Wasatch Academy. Brysen is an outstanding student who is enrolled this year in AP History, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry and AP English. His favorite subject is History, he is a member of NHS and he had a 1st semester GPA of (4.2). Brysen has made the Headmaster’s Honor Roll every quarter and semester for the past four years. He has also been named ‘Student of the Quarter’ (4.33 GPA) eight times and ‘Student of the Semester’ (4.33 GPA) four times. Brysen’s favorite sport is basketball and he was recently named to the ‘Academic All-State Basketball Team’. His hobbies include archery, riding atv’s, hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses and shooting sports. Brysen has been accepted to both the University of Utah and Montana State. He plans on attending Dental school and becoming a Dentist.
