Student Earns Spot in State Tennis Tournament

On Saturday, September 22nd, senior Sarah Lopez earned a spot in the state tennis tournament for the second straight year. Playing in the #2 singles flight, Sarah finished in third place and will compete for a state championship on September 29th in Salt Lake City. Sarah has been on the tennis team for all four of her years at Wasatch Academy, showing improvement with each new season. Since Wasatch Academy plays in the very difficult Northern Division in tennis, Sarah had to show her skills against some of the best players in Utah, and she has a chance to surpass Wasatch Academy's most recent success in girls' tennis, Dara Mintz's ('04) runner-up finish in 2003.
